External Scholarship Program

1. Scholarships from Korea Student Aid Foundation

A. National Scholarship (Sciences/Humanities and Sociology): Full Tuition
  • Qualifications: In accordance with the standards of qualification for national scholarship set by the Korea Scholarship Foundation
  • Qualifications for maintaining entitlement: 12 or more credits and a GPA of 3.2 or higher in the previous semester
  • Interim evaluation system for beneficiaries (2+2 system)
  • For the Beneficiaries of Basic Living Expenses Support: Provides 1.8 million won for living expenses per semester
B. Korea Student Aid Foundation’s National Scholarship (type I and II)

Type I
Basic Level to Family Income Level 3 and below
Freshmen (including re-admitted students)
  • High school GPA: average GPA for more than half the classes taken until the first semester of senior year should be within level 6
  • College Entrance Exam: within level 6 for more than 2 categories among the 4 categories on the college entrance examination However, students with disabilities are required to be within level 7 on the college entrance examination.
  • Students who took the High School Graduation Equivalency Examination: certificate of the results of examination
  • Students who graduate high school from foreign countries: certificate of graduation from the high school
Transferring and Re-admitted Students (who have grades from the previous semester)
  • 12 or more credits and a GPA of 80/100 (2.5/4.5) or higher in the previous semester For students with disabilities: GPA of 1.51/4.5 or higher

    Available for less than 12 credits after the 7th semester

National Scholarship
Type II
Family Income Level 4 to Family Income Level 7 and below

Specific aid amounts provided to each student depends on his or her family income level

2. Scholarship from Alumni Associations

PNU Alumni Scholarship, PNU Alumni Scholarship by College, PNU Faculty Scholarship, etc

3. Scholarships from External Foundations or Individual Contributions

The scholarships are contributed to by more than 180 scholarship foundations, enterprises, and individual contributors.
