The Department of French Language and Literature has pursued the study of French language, literature, and culture since it was established in 1978. For students wishing to pursue further studies in each area, the department operates Master’s and Doctorate degree programs. French literature courses include diverse courses dedicated to in-depth studies in each category, including poetry, novels, drama, critique, and trends in literature. For French language courses, the department operates Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax, and Semantics. The department also offers applied linguistics courses, including Computing Language Studies.
The department aims not only to provide students with a knowledge of the French language and its literature, but also to give students the insight and perspective required to become next-generation leaders in the global era.
