The Department of German Language and Literature has been continuously developing since it was established in March of 1978. The department’s faculty consists of six professors who hold Master’s and Doctorate degrees from renowned domestic and foreign universities, and one visiting foreign professor. Faculty members of the department play a leading role in domestic seminars on German language and literature, published works, and international academic exchanges.
The department instructs students not only on the German language as it is used in Germany, but also on the forms of German used in neighboring countries such as Austria and Switzerland, in order to enable students to actively respond to the rapidly changing needs of the era of globalization. The department aims for the constant development of knowledge on German language, literature, and culture.
