The Department of Education aims to develop capable, creative teachers and educational experts who can contribute to the development of the nation and the world through theoretical and practical education research. The department has selected and fostered students who have an interest in the teaching profession, and who dream of becoming educational experts or scholars in education. Students of the department strive to develop solutions for educational problems through theoretical and practical research. The department also seeks to generate excellent students who are armed with creativity, commitment to services, and professional knowledge in education.
The department was established in 1953 as the Department of Education, in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and was renamed the Department of Education, in the College of Education in 1974. Since 1974, the department has generated more than 700 holders of Bachelor’s degrees, more than 350 holders of Master’s degrees, and more than 140 holders of Doctorate degrees. Graduates of the department currently serve as professors, middle and high school teachers, and capable members of major enterprises. Most graduates serve as teachers and educational experts in the Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do areas, contributing to the education of the local community.
