The Department of Ethics Education was established in 1981, with the aim of producing capable middle and high school teachers. The department has generated more than 450 graduates, most of whom serve as ethics teachers not only in Busan but also in the Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gyeonsanggbuk-do areas. Every faculty member of the department is a renowned expert in his or her field, and has diverse research achievements and educational capabilities. The educational objective of the department is to help students to develop a knowledge of ethics and the principles required for its application, defining the ideal Korean citizens for the modern society. The department also aims to develop its students into capable future teachers, supported by a firm grasp of diverse educational methodologies.
Courses include Oriental Ethics, Western Ethics, Personality and Values, Political and Social Ideologies, Issues around the Unification of South Korea and North Korea, and Methodologies of Ethics Education. In addition, the department also operates diverse courses in the subject matter education.
