Some of the general types of projects that involve landscape architecture include:

- Parks and recreation facilities
- Street landscape, public urban spaces, and transportation facilities
- Gardens, arboretums, therapeutic gardens, well-being facilities, and eco-forests
- University campus, educational facilities, corporate facilities, and commercial spaces
- Preservation and restoration of historic sites
- Preservation of the environment, restoration of the ecosystem, restoration of rivers, and eco-streams
- Sports facilities, resorts, memorial sites, and monuments
- Landscaping art, land art, and outdoor sculpture
- Interior landscape
As the list of examples shows, there is a wide range of spaces and facilities that must be managed with the expert care of landscape architects.
The Department of Landscape Architecture of Pusan National University aims to develop creative and competitive landscape architects, who are equipped with the professional knowledge and skills required to meet the standards of the 21st century, which is the era of environment, culture, and information.
The four-year curriculum instructs students in reasonable and creative planning and design; the theories, history, and culture of landscape architecture; professional knowledge and skill relating to the environment and the ecosystem; the construction and management of landscapes; and the computer and digital skills that can be applied to overall landscape development, from design to construction. Students of the department will acquire these skills at the state-of-the-art studio located in Miryang Campus.
In addition, the department operates diverse domestic and overseas field trip programs by grade, and hosts a special lecture program, “Urban Landscape Forum,” on a regular basis, for the enrichment of students.
